Alternative to Detention (ATD) Liaison - Part-time

Position Type:
Non-Exempt, Part Time (approximately 30 hours per week)
Location:
Jefferson County Hall of Justice, 600 West Jefferson, Louisville KY
Compensation:
- $20-$22 per hour based on experience
- Cell phone stipend
- Monthly Parking Reimbursement
Position Summary:
Youth who are court‑ordered to home incarceration or home supervision are processed through the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Detention Alternatives Coordinators (DAC). DACs refer these youth to a Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes case workers.
The Court Liaison is the program staff present at juvenile court to complete the home detention intake or discharge of juvenile clients.

- Self-starter who requires minimum supervision after completion of training
- Ability to follow through with documentation, communication and deadlines
- Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma.
- Previous experience within the court system or juvenile services preferred, but not required.
- Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and submit to an intensive background investigation.
- Must have reliable transportation for daily court attendance.
- Must have schedule flexibility to remain at court until session is complete.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Attend Jefferson County Juvenile Court daily.
2. Install & remove GPS tracking units on juveniles involved in the court system
3. Assure proper knowledge of monitoring equipment for installation and removal.
4. Data entry in GPS monitoring software
5. Inventory control of GPS monitoring equipment
6. Communicate case information to the Case Managers, the Department of Juvenile Justice workers, and the ATD Coordinator as needed
7. Remain available via cell phone while at court for communication with Case Managers, the Department of Juvenile Justice workers, and the ATD Coordinator
8. Complete the proper documentation and timely completion of all daily, weekly, monthly paper work.
9. Mandatory computer skills in Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, Teams, and One Drive/Share Point.
10. Complete and maintain training required by agency for this position.
11. If unable to attend court session(s), coordinate coverage ATD Coordinator.
12. Stay informed about current issues affecting youth.
13. Other duties as assigned by the ATD Coordinator, the Director of ATD Services, and the Director of Operations
