The Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes (KYUMH) seeks a Mid-Level fundraiser to help build and advance the mission of KYUMH by expanding and maintaining funding from individuals. This position is based on our beautiful Nicholasville, KY campus, where you would have the opportunity to work where you know you are truly making an impact – in recent years, we served over 1,900 youth and families with mental health care and other wrap around services. The Donor Relations Specialist works with the Director of Donor Relations to carry out stewardship and cultivation of mid-level donors. This includes a focus on retaining donors passionate about KYUMH’s mission, upgrading giving, and identifying donors with the interest and capacity to give major gifts. The Portfolio of the Donor Relations Specialist is between 300-500 donors.

The Donor Relations Specialist works with the Director of Donor Relations to carry out stewardship and cultivation of mid-level donors. This includes a focus on retaining donors passionate about KYUMH’s mission, upgrading giving, and identifying donors with the interest and capacity to give major gifts. The Portfolio of the Donor Relations Specialist is between 300-500 donors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the management of a mid-level donor portfolio which includes qualifying for deeper engagement with KYUMH, stewardship for retention, and cultivation for upgrading.
- Develop engagement plans (moves management) for engaging key donors on portfolio.
- Identify and upgrade donors to major gifts.
- Contribute to the growth of the Planned Giving Program by identifying prospects from your portfolio.
- Create monthly reports that accurately reflect portfolio activity, and goal performance.
- Assist Director of Donor Relations with in-house targeted mailings.
- Develop and maintain key long-term relationships with donors and.
- Successfully complete face-to-face, telephone, handwritten, and/or email correspondence as established by annual performance goals.
- Record all contacts in donor database, including detailed information about meetings, communications, donor preferences and interests.
- Ensure that portfolio data is accurate or up to date
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors’ degree from a four-year accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years’ experience, with a year or more experience in mid-level fundraising preferred.
- Sound administrative skills and computer/technology proficiency.
- Efficient with donor database programs, preferably Bloomerang.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Represent KYUMH in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethics.

- Be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, be able to pass an extensive background check & drug test & be able to be CPR/First Aid certification (training provided)
