We are seeking a creative and innovative Communications Specialist to join our Communications team. With over 150 years of history and as an innovator in caring for children, there is always something exciting happening at KYUMH that needs to be shared! You’ll have the opportunity to work where you know you are truly making an impact – in 2024, we served over 3,000 youth and families with mental health care and other wrap around services.

Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Communications Specialist is to develop an engaging content strategy for the agency’s social media, website, and email marketing. This position plays a key role in community-building, storytelling, and brand awareness for the agency.

Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Communications Specialist is to develop an engaging content strategy for the agency’s social media, website, and email marketing. This position plays a key role in community-building, storytelling, and brand awareness for the agency.
- Social Media Content Development and Management
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media marketing strategies across various platforms to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities for community engagement.
- Plan and execute content including short- and long-format videos, graphics, and copy that align with our brand voice and strategic initiatives.
- Report on analytics on a consistent basis to inform future content strategies.
- Provide content design support for paid advertising campaigns.
- Website Management
- Utilize Webflow to maintain website for accuracy and excellent user experience.
- Develop copy for blog posts and inspiring storytelling of clients, donors, and volunteers.
- Collaborate with Director of Communications and Public Relations to analyze website traffic and ensure SEO best practices.
- Email Marketing
- Develop email marketing content to communicate with various stakeholders, including donors.
- Drive strategic initiatives to grow email audience.
- Supporting Development Department Initiatives
- Contribute content to quarterly printed newsletter.
- Provide support for public and internal events, including acting as representative for agency.
- Provide creative support for fundraising appeals and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- You are creative, innovative, and have a passion for storytelling.
- You are organized and understand how to manage competing deadlines.
- You are skilled at building relationships across departments.
- You have strong written and verbal communications skills.
- You want to be part of building a movement of people caring for children across Kentucky.
- Have experience in videography, social media management, web design, and copywriting.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university or college.
- Have experience in using Adobe Software (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
